Bio-Data - Mr Afzal Delbar
Mr. Afzal Delbar is the Managing Director of Silver Line Services Ltd (www.silverlineservices.com) which is an International Freight Forwarding Company. It has offices in 23 Countries that offers one stop-shop services in the Logistics Supply chain.
He is a licensed Customs House Broker and is the actual President of the Customs House Brokers Association (CHBA) – (www.customshousebrokers.com)
He is also the Secretary General of the Freeport Operators Association (www.freeportoperators.com) which is an Organization that regroups Freeport Licensees in view of enhancing the Freeport Sector and to make Mauritius a Trading Hub.
AFZAL DELBAR
Mr. Delbar has been actively involved in regional and International Trade and participated fully in the implementation of the Trade Protocol in the areas of Rules of origin and trade facilitation.
He is also an elected Executive Committee Member of the SADC Federation of Clearing and Forwarding Agents Association (FCFASA).
As President of the Customs House Brokers Association, he has been fully involved in the Customs reform and the implementation of the Cargo Community System, an IT platform to manage and secure the movement of goods.
Mr Delbar is the initiator and creator of Freight Academy - www.freightacademy.com – A pioneer institution to offer vocational and professional training in the logistics supply chain.
Mr Delbar is the Chairman of Industry Training Advisory Committee (ITAC) - Transport & Logistics (under the MQA).
At International level, Mr Delbar is the Joint Secretary of GOPIO International, an Organization that regroups People of Indian Origin worldwide for Social & Trade integration.
Mr Afzal Delbar is a Director and Board Member of the Mauritius Cargo Community Services (MACCS) – an Organization set up by the Government to manage and secure the logistics supply chain in real time through an IT platform. (www.maccs.mu)
Mr Afzal Delbar has been conferred the “Business Super Achiever Award” at “The Africa Leadership Awards” during the Africa India Partnership Summit held at Le Méridien – Mauritius on Wednesday 12th December, 2012.
The Award is conferred on “Outstanding professionals who have the vision, flair, acumen and professionalism to demonstrate excellent leadership and management skills in an organisation, making changes and achieving results”.
Mr Delbar has also created several Enterprises in Freeport, Property Development, Agriculture and Logistics.
