It is a well known fact that Mauritius has moved from a mono-crop economy to an industrialized one where tourism and the textiles and Clothing sector occupy a prominent place. It is however an undeniable fact that history has taught us that our Country was initially used as a trading hub both by the English and the French.
The setting up of the Mauritius Freeport in 1994 with a proper structure for an existing activity has naturally created the environment for budding entrepreneurs to take advantage of the opportunities available. The multi lingual ability of our trading community has been a great asset.
