Types of Freeport Licence
A Freeport Company is a company incorporated in Mauritius with objective to operate in the Freeport under the Freeport Act 2004.
The licenses are issued by the Board of investment.
There are three types of Freeport Licenses as follows: -
- 3rd Party Freeport Developer's License: This type of License is issued to Companies who have warehousing and Logistics facilities in Freeport zone. They offer their services and facilities to Freeport Operators.
- Private Freeport developers License: This type of License is issued to private Freeport Companies who run their own Warehousing facilities.
- Freeport Operator license: This license is issued to Companies to operate import / export business in the Freeport as per the Freeport Act and Regulations.
They can be involved in minor processing and most of the time makes use of facilities of services of third-Party Freeport Developers to carry out their activities.
